A long-term ichthyoplankton monitoring program suggests climate-induced environmental variabilities changed fish communities in the Hudson River estuary

چکیده
Climate change is known to have significant impacts on coastal marine ecosystems. However, a good understanding of the exact requires consistent long-term monitoring programs, which are not available for many The Hudson River Estuary (HRE) provides critical habitats estuarine, freshwater, and diadromous species. Longitudinal Ichthyoplankton Survey Water Quality in Biological Monitoring Program provided time series (1974-2017) examining changes salinity other environmental variables identifying temporal variability fish diversity. In this study, we examined data found 2-phase pattern with point 1984. We calculated Margalef index Simpson examine species richness evenness early older life stages upper lower HRE, explored potential effects rising sea level biodiversity. This study reveals that may play an important part explaining increased evenness. occurrence, establishment range expansion as well possible displacement freshwater be associated level-induced observed HRE. highlights need program better climate biota estuary ecosystems such HRE order enhance management, conservation, restoration plans.

Environmental change and oyster colonization within the Hudson River estuary linked to Holocene climate
Geophysical mapping and sampling data provide a record of changing environmental and faunal conditions within the Hudson River estuary during the midto late Holocene. On the shallow, broad marginal flats of the mesohaline Hudson, fossil oyster beds (Crassostrea virginica) are found exposed on the river bottom and buried by sediment. The shallowest beds are well imaged in chirp sub-bottom and si...

ion and encapsulation objects preclude the creation of traditional protocol-level gateways, as each object essentially performs application-level bridging between a particular sensor or control network and the iCS abstract event-programming environment. This provides a high degree of isolation from the underlying protocols used in sensor and control networks and thereby supports extremely heter...
متن کاملClimate change drives warming in the Hudson River Estuary, New York (USA).
Estuaries may be subject to warming due to global climate change but few studies have considered the drivers or seasonality of warming empirically. We analyzed temperature trends and rates of temperature change over time for the Hudson River estuary using long-term data, mainly from daily measures taken at the Poughkeepsie Water Treatment Facility. This temperature record is among the longest i...
متن کاملThe Hudson: a river runs through an environmental controversy.
Background: Epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) in alveolar epithelial cells (AECs) has been widely observed in patients suffering interstitial pulmonary fibrosis. In vitro studies have also demonstrated that AECs could convert into myofibroblasts following exposure to TGF-β1. In this study, we examined whether EMT occurs in bleomycin (BLM) induced pulmonary fibrosis, and the involvement...
